is it ok to put some calamine lotion on baby's skin? i noticed some mosquito bites and was thinking it might be itchy.

Felicity - December 21st, 2010 3:24 AM

hmmm... not so sure. the only way is to put a little bit and then observe is he or she develops an allergic reaction to the calamine.

if i were you i would not put any. unless of course they are fussing because of the itch.

i think it's ok. but their skin is sensitive like Felicity said so better get a skin test first.

i think its ok if its really red and itchy.

try putting some ethyl alcohol on the bump or even vicks vaporub. very effective!

hey kim444!

this sounds like a good idea. will try it out next time we go outdoors.

probably. but only when needed. i dont put calamine lotion on them.

LiSa - December 29th, 2010 4:17 PM

put calamine lotion only when you need it. baby skin is sensitive.

if your baby does not need it then it would be better if you dont put any. but if your baby is uncomfortable then a very thin layer should be used.

how about some insect repellent instead? there is a repellent made from citronella that is natural.
