why is it that some babies take so long to burp after feeding?

karenJ - December 11th, 2010 4:28 AM

some babies are just this way I guess. I remember that after feeding my son would burp almost immediately after. I never had a child who burped a long time.

maybe it just takes him longer to burp. i know i dont burp after eating all the time... hahaha.

but you know burping should be done to prevent stomach ache. so be patient with babies who burp later.

i think it has something to do with the air in their tummy. perhaps it takes some time to go up.

i had a baby that also took a long time to burp. its better to make sure that they burp to prevent tummy ache. but i never bothered to find out why some take a long time to burp though.

i don't burp a lot... probably has something to do with the air in the stomach...

BEA228 - December 19th, 2010 4:05 AM

i do not know why but I just know that burping is important!

you girls got me curious too. and i tried to google it but could not come up with an explanation! :o

DaNiElLe - December 21st, 2010 3:26 AM

isnt burping air travelling upwards? perhaps in some babies it takes time before it goes up.

Marie - December 25th, 2010 2:05 AM

not so sure. i just know that they NEED to be burped after! :)

QmelQ - December 26th, 2010 1:55 AM

its just the way of babies.... that's my explanation anyway... :)

Bennie - December 29th, 2010 3:59 AM

i never thought about the reason why too. i just made sure they burped! :D
